In 2014, Arthur Breitman, then a quantitative analyst at Goldman Sachs, became fascinated by blockchain technology. Observing the limitations of existing systems like Bitcoin and Ethereum (which relied on energy-intensive proof-of-work mechanisms) he envisioned a new approach: a proof-of-stake blockchain.
At the time, this was an uncharted territory, requiring both deep technical expertise and a clear understanding of the emerging domain.
Arthur needed a team capable of transforming a visionary idea into a concrete specification and working prototype. The project required expertise in OCaml, formal methods, and a deep understanding of blockchain technology to create a system that would be secure, scalable, and fundamentally different from existing blockchains.
