Mlang & Catala: French tax computation
40.7 million taxpayers, 37 million declarations a year. Mlang, the compiler for the M language created by the DGFiP in the 1990s, is still in production. Catala, born at Inria, takes the approach further with formal semantics. We have contributed to its development.
